A new stage of life begins this week as I move to Washington, D.C. to begin a summer internship with National Geographic Television. I would have never imagined that the Lord would provide something like this for me, but I think He just wants to emphasize that his plans are always going to blow my mind.
Moving somewhere new is going to be an adventure, it always is. Where do you eat, who do you hang out with, how do you get to work, how much time does it take to get to work, how much money can I afford to spend a week: these are all questions that I have never had to deal with before.
You see, I have never had a summer that I wasn’t in Colorado. Yes, that makes 20 years of Colorado summers and now for my 21st year of being alive, I am going to be in The District, and I’m pretty nervous.
I am moving into a house with 3 other guys who I have never met, moving to a city for the first time in my life (Our country’s capital none-the-less), and taking an internship with a company that I have admired since I was a kid.
I like being nervous though, it means that you are pushing yourself to do something that isn’t comfortable or normal. It means that there some part of you that hesitates out of fear but you push through it anyways.
And I’m pushing through.
So what will you find on the blog over the summer?
- GoPro edits / Pictures
- Ramblings about commuting by bike
- Internship stories
- This is really hard stories
- God is good stories
- And whatever else happens stories.
Thanks for reading friends, and if you are also on a transitional journey in your life, let’s do this thing right.
